CDA to Complete Margalla Avenue Link Road Project by October 30

Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has extended the deadline for finishing a significant road project that aims to connect the recently built Margalla Avenue with E-11, setting it for October 30.

The 5.5km road project, which began in December 2022 and is expected to cost around Rs. 4 billion, was initially planned to be finished by June 20 of the current year.

The delays, according to CDA officials, were caused by a number of difficulties, such as the relocation of utility services, tree management, problems with property ownership, and bad weather.

It is pertinent to state that they stated that these obstacles have been cleared, enabling the project to move forward at full speed, and that it will be successfully completed by October 30.

Sources claim that the National Logistics Cell (NLC) was given the project last year for the sum of Rs3,983 million. The 5.5 km long route runs from sector D-12, where Margalla Avenue ends, to Khayaban-i-Iqbal in sector E-11.

The segment of the road extension that has already been started that leads to E-11 and Khayaban-i-Iqbal is intended to relieve potential traffic congestion.

CDA is certain that the road will be open to traffic by the end of October as the project nears completion.
