Islamabad Administration Introduces Support Desks for Overseas Pakistanis

According to Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) for Overseas Pakistani Jawad Sohrab Malik, the Islamabad Capital Territory Administration (ICTA) has set up designated desks within its offices and at the Capital Development Authority (CDA) in order to address the concerns of overseas Pakistanis and provide them with multiple essential civic facilities easily through a single window operation.

The CDA’s special desk will help with the transfer of residential plots, approval of building designs, issuance of completion certificates, payment of annual property tax, quarterly payment of water supply and other miscellaneous payments for Overseas Pakistanis, according to SAPM Malik, on the special instruction of Prime Minister of Pakistan Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar.

Furthermore, he said that the government has set up new helplines for Pakistanis living abroad. The support desks would provide a wide range of services, such as help with housing, property taxes, and other government programmes.

The support desks’ main objectives are to build the faith of Pakistanis living abroad in the government and to make it simpler for them to receive government services.

Malik added that representatives from all pertinent departments, including the CDA, the Revenue Department, and the Islamabad Police, will be available at the assistance desks to help and direct the foreign nationals.

The authorised help desk services would be made available to other federal and provincial organisations that provide services to Pakistanis living abroad, according to SAPM. This indicates that residents of other countries have access to a broad range of services from all tiers of government at the help desks.

This substantial action is anticipated to boost Overseas Pakistanis’ confidence in the government and make it simpler for foreign nationals to receive government services.

The support desks are situated in the offices of ICT at G-11/4 and the CDA building at G-7/2 Islamabad, and they are accessible to all Pakistanis living abroad, no matter where they are in the world.
